Fuse ODG – Million Pound Girl (Badder Than Bad)
Fuse ODG is one of the most well known artists within the afrobeats music scene due to colloborations with massive reggae dancehall artist Sean Paul. However he most well known for his hit single 'Azonto' and 'Antenna' which are popular dance moves. This song was written by Fuse ODG and produced by Killbeatz. The video was released 13th October 2013.
Synopsis of the video & conceptual, narrative or performance based
This video is also about a female being the object of the music artists attraction and that dancing is what makes him more if not attracted to her. In this song fuse compares the girl to £1million suggested that she is worth a lot to him. This video is also predominately performance based.
Themes& Motifs
One of the major themes within this song is Love and appreciation as throughout the song Fuse ODG frequently compliments and commends his lady for all that she is and all that she is doing and does.
Editing: There is some use of special effects in this video. The is also a fade used to cut back and forth between the people in the video and Fuse ODG.
Camera: The video opens with a medium shot of a couple and then throughout the majority of the video it consists of low angled shots of those featured in the video and Fuse. There are also some close ups on fuse to indicate that he is the main artist and that it's his song.
Mise-en-scene: The video opens with a white English looking couple, now this is quite unconventional as it is mainly African Americans that are featured in afrobeat video, however fuse ODG may of done this to convey setting as the video in shot in London, England which is where white people mainly originate from. It can be noticed that when the video begsn it had a slow cutting rate cutting for all the participants of the video listening to Million pound girl on the radio, showing the popularity of the song and the fact that as soon as it's heard you want to dance.
Target Audience: This could be aimed at people who enjoy dancing and appreciate and admire those they love.

  1. This is pretty brief with little detailed technical analysis of camera and editing. You need to also add a section on how you will use ideas from this video, in your own music video. Vanessa
